Palazzo Grassi >>> "Your wave is" 2006 Olafur Eliasson

2800 Meter Slimlight electroluminescence „Twin High Brightness“ Fibers has been used to for the whole installation.

In complete 96 pieces of 25m, as well as 6 pieces of 12m length realised this colossal, light network on the façade of Palazzo Grassi in Venice. The nine different segments were divided to operate them separately. Big Power Series by LIGHTEC has been used to control the electroluminiscence systems. Big Power features main separation, voltage and frequence are manually controllable. Consequently certain colour temperatures and specific brightness can be adjusted at the single segments.

Due to the usage of “Twin High Brightness” Fibers an unique light intensity has been accomplished.

Palazzo Grassi at Canale Grande in Venice. Museum of billionaire Francois Pinault from France.

By special beam parts of aluminium this lighting art has been stabilised.

Due to the guidance of the aluminium beams has a three-dimensional effect been emerged.

Light art “Your wave is” 2006, designed by Olafur Eliason from Berlin.

On the ground each string has been fixed and stretched onto a wooden boardwalk. Owing to the humidity the illuminant has to be exeptionally protected. This effect has been realised with a selfadhesive heat shrinkable tubing.

“Twin High Brightness” Fibers has been prepared and delivered on 96 rolls.

A special crane was positioned on a vessel to mount the main beam consisting of steel for the fixing of the light art.

Arrival at the port. Personal luggage and the complete material for the installation has been shipped by our “Captain Marco” to the construction site.

According to the shortage of work space on the small wooden boardwalk a boat was used to help out to array the outer segments of the light network.

Mounted steel beam at the roof of Palazzo Grassi on which has been light segements in about 25m height attached.

Of course less would have happened without our clamberer. Kind regards to Nawrocki Alpin from Berlin.

The prepared segments have been lifted with ropes, were fixed by the clamberers onto the steel beam and connected to each other.

Testing of Fibers and recording of the cable assignment in order to ensure that the 96 strings fit into the right junction box and into the right power supply.

Our Big Power power supply which control the complete light network and also enables different effects.
